This year, the lab is proud to introduce an exciting new opportunity for emerging talent: MINNOWS Screenwriting Foundation Course. A foundation program specifically designed for beginner screenwriters, also running in Paris from September 6th to 10th alongside our advanced professional program. The initiative will offer 12 first-time screenwriters a comprehensive, five-day introduction to the craft of screenwriting and story-building. We are excited to welcome back Tina Gharavi - BAFTA and Sundance-nominated filmmaker and our Reykjavik 2026 The Whale Mentor - who will lead the charge in mentoring this new wave of entrants. Tina Gharavi, “We recognised from our first 3 years of running the programme that we were frequently approached by writers just starting out. So this year, we decided to put together an intro strand. This will be our first year running this and I am glad to bring over 20+years of screenwriting training into a focused programme. Where better to do this than the inspiring backdrop of Paris.”
